2024 Prayer

The Power of Prayer

We know that prayer is powerful, and we want to be a praying church. Throughout this year, let us unite in prayer, dedicating each month to a new topic that inspires our hearts and strengthens our spirit.

For the month of NOVEMBER, our prayer focus will be for us to “GIVING THANKS.” In a culture that constantly promotes negativity, it’s easy to overlook the importance of gratitude. Yet, God’s goodness is unchanging, and we have countless reasons to be thankful. This month, let's intentionally lift up prayers of gratitude for specific blessings—personally, as a family, within your BFG, and when we come together as a church family. Here are some ways to focus our hearts on thankfulness:

  • Thank God that He never changes: In a constantly changing world, it’s good to remember that our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  • Thank God for his unfailing love: Praise God for His unwavering love that never falters, even in our weakest moments. Let His steadfast love remind us of His constant presence and deep care for us.
  • Thank God for your family: Thank God for the blessing of family, a place where love, support, and growth are nurtured. Pray for His guidance and protection over each family member and for unity that reflects His love.
  • Thank God for your church family: Appreciate the gift of a spiritual community that supports, encourages, and grows with you. Thank Him for the strength and unity we share as we walk in faith together.
  • Thank God for his desire to use and equip us to make our community more like Heaven: Praise God for His commitment to work through us, preparing us to bring love, peace, and hope to our neighborhoods.
  • Thank God for the men and women who serve in the military and as first responders: Pray that Lift up those who risk their lives daily to protect and serve others. Ask God to bless them and thank Him for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice.
  • Thank God for the freedom we have to worship Him: Recognize the privilege of worshiping freely and openly without fear. Pray for continued protection of this freedom and for those around the world who do not share it.
  • Thank God for friendships: Celebrate the joy and strength that friends bring into our lives. Thank God for these relationships, which reflect His love and bring comfort, laughter, and companionship.
  • Thank God for salvation through Christ. Give thanks for the incredible gift of salvation and the hope it brings. Praise God for the grace and mercy poured out through Jesus, which secures our relationship with God forever. Pray for opportunities to share this hope with others.

Our hope is that you will pray for 2-3 specific items each day. If you see God working and answering these prayers, we would love to hear about it.
