2024 Prayer

The Power of Prayer

We know that prayer is powerful, and we want to be a praying church. Throughout this coming year, we will have a special prayer focus for each month that we can pray about together.

For the month of September our prayer focus will be for us to “BE THE CHURCH” in our cities, neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools. Out of 168 hours in a week, we spend just 1 or 2 in church. But the church is more than Sunday morning—it's about living as Christ’s ambassadors every day, wherever we are. Here are specific things that you, your family, your BFG…and when we gather corporately…can pray for this month:

  • Pray for Boldness in Sharing Your Faith: Ask God to open doors for you to share your faith story with someone you regularly encounter who doesn’t know Christ. Pray for the courage and clarity to speak about His love in a way that touches their heart.
  • Pray for Open Invitations: Seek God’s guidance in identifying individuals you can invite to your Bible Fellowship Group (BFG) and worship services. Pray they will be receptive, and their experience will draw them closer to God.
  • Pray for Christ-like Impact: Ask God to reveal specific ways you can be His hands, feet, and voice in your school, workplace, or neighborhood. Pray for opportunities to serve others that reflect Christ’s love.
  • Pray for a Prayerful Heart: Ask God to help you be mindful of the needs of those around you. Pray for opportunities not only to pray for your coworkers, neighbors, and friends but also to pray with them, bringing God's peace and presence into their lives.
  • Pray for Daily Opportunities to Encourage: Ask God to lead you to someone each day who needs encouragement, support, or a listening ear. Pray for wisdom to recognize these moments and positively impact their day.
  • Pray for Kingdom Use of Your Home: Invite God to show you how your home can be a place of ministry and outreach. Pray for creativity and willingness to use your space to bless others and advance God’s Kingdom.
  • Pray for Grace in Differences: Lift up those with whom you disagree or see the world differently. Ask God to give you a Christ-like attitude and words, enabling you to positively impact their lives through grace and love.
  • Pray for the Fruit of the Spirit: Each day, focus on one Fruit of the Spirit and ask God to make it evident in your life. Pray that love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control will shine through as you interact with others.

Our hope is for you to pray for 2-3 specific items each day. As you see God working and answering these prayers, we would love to hear about it.

Use the form below to share stories of God answering your prayers or ways we, as a church, can pray for you.
