During worship on February 18, Pastor Chad shared a personal testimony of the road he and Rhonda traveled as “wounded parents” (You can watch his testimony HERE, starting at the 41:09 mark).

Being a parent of a “prodigal” can mean a lot of different things to different people. At its core, it means you have a child (of whatever age) who has turned away from you, your values, or maybe turned away from God. We want to provide support, encouragement, prayer, hope, accountability, and resources to the parents of prodigals.

There are a variety of topics that quickly come to mind for wounded parents – guilt, anger, fear, boundaries, communication, and grief to name a few. Over the next several months, we will get together to address such topics. The meetings will be on weekday evenings for an hour or so. When possible, we’ll bring in guest speakers to help us address the struggles of wounded parents.

The meetings are open to anyone, but conversations will remain confidential. Please invite others to join us for any or all of the gatherings. Topics will be announced in the Sunday bulletin ahead of meetings. Please let us know if you plan on attending. Contact Julie Roden.
