Help and encouragement for parents of prodigals.
Being a parent of a “prodigal” can mean a lot of different things to different people. At its core, it means you have a child (of any age) who has turned away from you, your values, or maybe even turned away from God. We want to provide support, encouragement, prayer, hope, accountability, and resources to you, the parents of prodigals.
During worship on February 18, 2018, Pastor Chad shared a personal testimony of the road he and his wife Rhonda traveled as “wounded parents” (You can watch his testimony HERE - starting at 41:09).
There are a variety of topics that quickly come to mind for wounded parents – guilt, anger, fear, boundaries, communication, and grief to name a few. This group meets periodically on weekday evenings for about an hour. On occasion, a guest speaker is invited to help lead us as we address the struggles of wounded parents.
Our meetings are open to anyone, and conversations remain confidential. Please invite others to join us for any or all of the gatherings. Topics will be announced in the Sunday bulletin ahead of meetings. To receive Wounded Parents communication and to let us know that you are planning on coming, please contact Julie Roden.
