The Children's Ministry seeks to provide children in Grades 1-6 with Bible learning experiences that help them grow through following Jesus' example, loving others and taking their next steps with Christ.
Most children activities take place on the second floor of our Children's Building (see map).
Children's Bible Fellowship Groups (BFGs): Sundays | 9:00 or 10:30 a.m.:: Bible study for children (expand/collapse)
Children in grades 1-4 follow "The Gospel Project" curriculum, a Christ-centered Bible study that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events. Each week, these stories come to life through videos, small group activities and more.
Preteens in grades 5-6 gather for a brief group assembly each week to preview the lesson as well as interact in games related to the lesson. After assembly, preteens head to their classrooms for small group discussion.
Wednesday Evening/Sunday Afternoon Programs (provided during the school year):
WAM Kids: Wednesdays | 6:00-6:30 p.m.:: equipping kids to offer talents back to God as an act of worship (expand/collapse)
The goal for WAM Kids is to guide children to come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and become lifelong worshipers of God through worship arts. Each nine weeks children in grades 2-6 select between sign language, world percussion, art, instruments and media/tech. First graders will be intoduced to some of these concepts. At the end of each nine week period, WAM Kids will help lead worship through song using all of these elements. In the spring, WAM Kids will present a musical. For more information, contact Kathy Carpenter
Missions: Wednesdays | 6:30-7:30 p.m.:: awareness and application classes (expand/collapse)
Our missions programs encourage children to reach beyond themselves to see the needs of others and to develop compassion, while growing in their knowledge of God’s work throughout the world. These mission classes are divided into Girls in Action (GAs) for girls and Royal Ambassadors (RAs) for boys. Please contact Jo Thompson for more information about GAs and Lezah Maitland for more information about RAs.
Bible Drill: Sundays | 4-5 p.m.:: weekly Bible memorization program (expand/collapse)
Children in Grades 1-6 develop Bible skills and memorization and learn how to apply scripture to their lives, helping them hide God's Word in their hearts. For more information about Grades 1-3, please contact Dianne Gray. For more information about Grades 4-6, contact Pam Davis.
DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K): Sundays | 4-6 p.m. :: a 13-week series for children ages 6-12 struggling with parents' divorce (expand/collapse)
DC4K helps children heal from the hurt and pain of divorce and separation. We combine games, crafts, activities, music and videos to create an inviting atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. DC4K meets when DivorceCare is in session. For more information, contact Ellen Wood.
